Pinkalarta
$6,950 AUD
Pinkalarta is based on artwork by Alma Webou. This piece is named after her birthplace in the Great Sandy Desert. She led a traditional existence until the early 1970s when severe drought forced the Yulparija people to move to Bidyadanga on the coast. Alma said, “Pinkalakarta is the place I was born and grew up; this is my mother’s country. This country has lots of mayi (bush food). I lost my mummy and sister here.” Alma cried when she painted Pinkalarta. Many of her family died as a result of the droughts in this country.

Care + Maintenance
We advise professional cleaning for all our rugs.
Vacuum regularly - we do not recommend using rotating or brush head vacuum cleaners on any of our rugs, or vacuum cleaners with a very strong suction.
Clean spills immediately. Never rub a spill, instead blot any liquids with a dry absorbent white cloth or white paper towel. If in doubt, please seek professional advice from our Preferred Cleaner Network.
Do not steam clean or dry-clean your rug, and avoid harsh chemicals. Our rugs are not machine-washable.
Direct sunlight will cause fading - avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
