Some of the weaving facilities we work with have been making our rugs for close to forty years. Those relationships run on trust, safe working conditions and honest communication in both directions.
Long relationships are how quality holds, and how conditions in a facility can be known rather than assumed.

Every production facility is visited once a year. Safety, environmental practice and working conditions are reviewed on

Durable by design.
A rug that does not need replacing is the largest environmental saving available to us. Longevity is a design decision here before it is a claim.
Natural materials.
Wool is our primary fibre. Renewable and biodegradable.
Tested to standard.
Rugs and carpets are tested by accredited laboratories against recognised Australian and international standards.
Community and giving
For forty years Designer Rugs has backed the education of emerging designers. The biennial Evolve Design Competition and the 30Under30 program with ADR both put young designers in front of real manufacture.
We donate to Australian charities including OzHarvest and the Fred Hollows Foundation, among others.
