Australian label Dinosaur Designs was founded in 1985 by Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy. Propelled by a philosophy of colour and form, they expanded into homewares in 1995, working with glass, sterling silver and resin. Today, the duo works from their Strawberry Hills studio, where each piece is handmade for a unique finish using a patented resin technique.
Dinosaur Designs have released three collections with Designer Rugs over the past two decades, each featuring playful compositions of organic shapes and bold colour combinations, explored through textural finishes. With bold and punchy colour-blocked designs, the designs play with rhythms in line, shape, colour and tone.
The third collection from Dinosaur Designs offers a fresh take on the previous two collections. With bold and punchy colour-blocked designs, The Studio Collection plays with rhythms in line, shape, colour and tone. “We wanted to play with big planes of colour with this series and work from a really warm palette to a very cool blue palette”, says Louise Olsen of Dinosaur Designs.

Clean spills immediately. Never rub a spill, instead blot any liquids with a dry absorbent white cloth or white paper towel. If in doubt, please seek professional advice from our Preferred Cleaner Network.
Do not steam clean or dry-clean your rug, and avoid harsh chemicals. Our rugs are not machine-washable.

“As custom-made specialists, we are lucky to have first-hand experience with what is happening in the market in terms of colour and design,” says senior designer Lia Pielli. “Because we work across both residential and commercial projects with long lead times, we always have our finger on the pulse of interiors trends.”

Their In House Collections act as a ‘jumping off point’ for customers to get creative, and it’s rewarding for the team to see the unique, beautiful and sometimes surprising rugs springing from their initial ideas.
