Changing a hotel’s branding doesn’t happen overnight, but it almost can with the right design strategy. The Hilton in Melbourne’s Docklands underwent a full rebrand and refurbishment last year, and our custom made rugs and carpets played an important role in its new identity. Working closely with internationally renowned interior design studio Chada, we created over 600 square metres of bespoke rugs and carpets for this stunning hotel.
This 400-room luxurious hotel appeals to the tourist crowd with its riverside location and panoramic city views, but also has its strengths with business travellers due to its proximity to the convention centre. The refined tranquillity of the interiors has a broad appeal, and is enhanced by the soothing oceanic palette of our handmade rugs.
The lobby, restaurant and rooms all share the same beautiful, high quality wood finishes, which pair back beautifully with the rugs organic, shifting New Zealand Wool hues of teal and sky blue. Chada’s exquisite design choices gently evoke a ship’s interior without feeling themed – a nod to the area’s once bustling docks and the Polly Woodside tall ship moored nearby.
Our custom made Axminster carpet takes a livelier, geometric approach in the hotel’s lounge areas, more reflective of the iconic Melbourne skyline than the water views.
