Designed in blueandbrown's Surry Hills studio, the six rug designs herald a new dimension for blueandbrown, seeing their signature graphic style reinterpreted into the rugs' luxurious texture.
Each design belies Skye's continuing enquiry into relationships between forms. "whether its scale, composition or colour, even though the designs are very bold, there is always a delicate balance at work".
Each rug is hand-tufted in New Zealand Wool Rich blend with selected designs featuring silk highlights and different pile heights to create subtle dimension to the designs.
All designs are available in the standard size 200 x 300 cm and can be custom sized and coloured.
Suitable for residential and commercial applications.
Skye believes good design should work in any medium and has proven this with the successful launch of blueandbrown canvas, candiy*, furniture, stationery, fabrics, rugs and other homeware products.
blueandbrown was originally founded by dynamic duo Skye 'Blue' Vermeeesch and Kirsten Brown, who took " an idea in the park" to an internationally recognised design company.
In November 2008, Skye decided to take over as sole director of blueandbrown to allow Kirsten to retire and follow other interests.
